Logo design is a bit tricky matter as it involves a fair amount of
small factors and all of them are necessary in order to form a perfect
logo. When creating a logo, we need to convey our brand in the best
possible way and at the same time we need to control that is does not
use too much space. This is one of the most important challenges for us,
designers. Only following certain rules can guarantee the best impact
and success. Please find below 7 important factors we need to consider
when creating a perfect logo.

1. Start from research
The
best way of starting a logo design is to make a research that involves
searching information regarding a company or a product we will create a
logo for. We cannot rush the things by starting putting graphics
together from the first minute of the project as it can only make things
worse. We need to find out what symbols represent the company, what
colours the company uses, what type of industry they are in and where do
they want to be in the future, what are the business goals and targets,
etc. We need to search for all of these questions and the more we know
at the beginning the better chances our logo will be accepted by the
company and that the brand will grow stronger and bigger.
2. Attractiveness and uniqueness of logo design
What
do we want to achieve when designing a logo is to grab the attention of
potential clients, but we cannot scream for it at the same time, so a
good balance between is needed. It ought to test the intellect of the
potential customer and inspire him/her; ideally the customer will spend
some time, maybe few minutes, analyzing the logo. You must have noticed
some of the best logo designs have an unique symbol or aspect embedded
in the logo which describes something about the company.
3. People remember simplicity
One
of the stuff you got to very concentrate on is to ensure your logo
design isn't too cluttered or too fancy as this can simply confuse the
audience, hence your potential customers. Ultimately you would like the
customer to remember your brand and that can only happen if the logo is
simple as simple things are easier to digest for a standard human being.
Simple! Also, be sure the logo sends some positive signals to the
audience.
4. Make logo as flexible as possible
I have
heart of many logo design projects that involved a lot of investment and
there were no good at the end! How this could happen? The answer is the
logo was not designed properly and it could not fit on a product
wrapper! Now, that's an example of a big waste of time and money! Most
people forget that the flexibility of a logo is the key to success to
prevent further mistakes and errors to happen in the future. The logo
needs to be flexible to simply work everywhere it is needed, of course
with preserving its impact on a product wrapper, a company website or
stationery! And so, plan for the size of the logo and the usage of
appropriate colours. The rule is simple; the colours used for the logo
must create a contrast from the background colours.
5. Do not stuff too much
One
of the common mistakes people make when designing a logo is stuffing
too much information on a logo as they want to mention everything - the
company products and services, year of establishment, strapline,
positive symbol, etc. Sometimes it's just simply too much as the
presence of such logo will confuse people. Also, how people can remember
your brand if they do not know what to look at!
6. Readable fonts are very important in logo design
When
it comes to selecting a font for your logo you must know that some
fonts look nice on paper, however they are not readable enough to use
them for a logo design purposes. The true is there is no point using
classic fonts in logo design as they do not help your audience to
remember it. One thing you must consider when selecting an appropriate
font is to use one that is easy for an eye.
7. Logo design and colours
Unique
and successful logo design will always concentrate on using
complementary colours that create a contrast between logo itself and the
 background.
